Wagoner County District Court

The Wagoner County District Court handles all state traffic cases filed in the county. It is part of the 15th Judicial District alongside Adair, Cherokee, Muskogee, and Sequoyah counties. The Court Clerk maintains all records and processes copy requests. Staff can look up cases by name or case number.

Wagoner County sits just east of Tulsa County and covers a mix of suburban and rural areas. It includes the city of Wagoner, Coweta, Broken Arrow (partly), Catoosa, and several smaller communities. The OHP regularly patrols US-51, US-69, and SH-16 in this county. Traffic stops made by the OHP or the county sheriff on state and county roads generate District Court cases. The clerk enters those cases into the state database, and they become searchable through OSCN and ODCR. City police citations within Wagoner or Coweta city limits go to those cities' municipal courts, which are separate from District Court.

Wagoner Municipal Court

Traffic citations written by Wagoner city police officers within the city limits go to the Wagoner Municipal Court rather than the District Court. These are two entirely different systems. The municipal court handles city ordinance violations and traffic cases within its jurisdiction. Municipal court records do not appear in OSCN or ODCR. If your citation was issued by the Wagoner Police Department, contact the Wagoner Municipal Court directly to pay, contest, or look up your case.

If you are not sure which court has your case, look at the issuing agency on your citation. OHP or Wagoner County Sheriff citations go to District Court and are searchable in OSCN. City police citations go to municipal court and are not in the state databases. This distinction matters a lot if you are trying to pay a fine or look up a case online, since searching in the wrong system will come up empty.

Note: Other cities in Wagoner County such as Coweta also have their own municipal courts. Always check the issuing agency on the citation to determine which court to contact.
