Caddo County District Court

The Court Clerk at the Caddo County Courthouse in Anadarko maintains all District Court records for the county. The clerk files and records every case, tracks the appearance docket, prepares court documents, collects fines and fees, issues marriage licenses, and provides public access to records. All traffic violations filed by OHP and the county sheriff come through this office. It is your go-to contact for copies of traffic records or questions about a pending case.

Caddo County participates in both OSCN and ODCR. This means most District Court traffic records are available online without a trip to the courthouse. The county covers a large area of west-central Oklahoma. State and federal highways run through the county, and OHP citations on those roads are among the most common traffic cases in the system.

Traffic Points and Oklahoma Law

Oklahoma's Department of Public Safety uses a point system to track traffic violations statewide. All convictions in Caddo County District Court count toward your point total. Accumulating 10 or more points in a five-year period can lead to license suspension. The number of points depends on the violation. Common traffic infractions carry 1 to 4 points each.

Speeding violations are broken down by how far over the limit you were going. Speeding 11 to 25 mph over the limit adds 2 points. Going 26 to 40 over adds 3 points. Going 41 or more over adds 4 points. Driving 10 mph or less over the limit results in a fine but no points. Other violations like reckless driving (4 points), at-fault accidents (3 points), failure to yield (2 points), and careless driving (2 points) all go on your record the same way.

You can subtract 2 points by completing an approved defensive driving course. This is allowed once every 24 months. Fines double in construction zones and school zones under state law. Some violations lead to automatic license suspension by DPS: no insurance, DUI, eluding police, and illegally passing a school bus are the main ones. These rules apply across all Oklahoma courts, including Caddo County.
