Paying Logan County Traffic Fines

Logan County accepts payment for traffic fines by cash, check, money order, cashier's check, or credit card. Phone payments are not accepted. Online payments go through the OSCN E-Payments system at pay.oscn.net. You need your case number or citation number to use the online system. Credit and debit cards are accepted there. The online portal is available for most District Court traffic cases and is the fastest way to resolve a fine remotely.

If you pay by mail, write your plea on the back of the citation and include your payment. Attach a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want a receipt. Do not mail cash. Send the envelope to the Court Clerk at 301 E Harrison, Room 201, Guthrie, OK 73044. Make sure your payment arrives before your court date. Late payment or failure to appear can result in a warrant.

If you want to appear before a judge to contest the ticket or arrange a payment plan, you must go in person to the courthouse. Payment plans cannot be set up online. The clerk can tell you about the process for entering a not-guilty plea and getting a hearing scheduled on the docket.

Logan County Records Request and Copy Fees

To request copies of Logan County traffic court records, you can visit the clerk's office in person or send a mail request. Copy fees are $1.00 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page. Certification of a document costs $0.50. Authentication costs $5.00. If you need a certified copy for legal purposes, make sure to specify that when you request it so the clerk can prepare the correct document.

Mail requests without a case number require the $5.00 search fee per seven years of records searched. This fee applies when the clerk has to search by name rather than pulling a known case. To keep costs down, include as much detail as possible in your request: party names, approximate filing date, and case type. That helps narrow the search and may reduce the number of seven-year windows needed to find the right record.

The Logan County Records Request page on the official county website has more details about the process, including what to include in a mail request and which documents are available online versus in person.

Oklahoma Traffic Laws Affecting Logan County Cases

Oklahoma's point system applies to all traffic convictions recorded through Logan County District Court. If you reach 10 or more points in a five-year period, the Department of Public Safety can suspend your license. Reckless driving carries 4 points. Speeding 11 to 25 mph over the limit adds 2 points. Going 26 to 40 mph over adds 3 points, and exceeding the limit by 41 or more mph adds 4 points. At-fault accidents add 3 points.

Speeding in construction zones carries doubled fines under 47 O.S. Section 11-806. School zone violations double under Section 11-806.1. These enhancements are common on US-77 and I-35, which both run through Logan County. The OHP actively patrols these corridors and routes those citations to the District Court.

You can remove 2 points from your record by completing an approved defensive driving course. This is allowed once every 24 months. Some serious violations trigger automatic suspension regardless of your point total, including driving without insurance and DUI convictions.

Note: Most Logan County traffic cases from 2003 forward appear in OSCN. Older cases may require an in-person search at the clerk's office.
